Log your trip

It is easy to go boating, but you need to log your maneuvers. Now you can do this on the iPad or iPhone with the App LogTheBook. A better experience is given if you have a GPS sensor build in your device. That is the case for an iPad with 3G or 4G. In the iPhone you have this sensor if you have the 3GS or newer.

Export

Export your daily trip, with a map via email or twitter. Or export a whole logbook via email to your friends or family. Even with the photos you have taken. You can send a daily summary in form of a map, where the logged points are shown. Even export via dropbox as pdf is recommended.

Build a Logbook

Press the + button to build a new logbook. If you have already a logbook you can copy the name of the vessel and some properties from the last logbook you made. Go to the edit popup and press copy values. The crew going with you can be saved as well.

Daily logbook entry

For each day of your trip press the + button to make a daily entry. You can switch between your daily entries by tapping the dot next to the date. Blue dot means selected. On your daily entry you note your logs (engine and normal log). You can even write the notes of the day.

Snap your daily trip

When you are on the go, log each maneuver in the snaps section of the daily entry. Scrolling down on the entry section will show you each log of the day in a written summary.
